The Micro NX control box delivers variable speed and forward/reverse operation by hand or foot. Coupled with the very powerful NX100b Torque Master hand piece weighing only 170g and capable of max 35000 rpm. 12month Warranty Electric Nail File User Tips & Care Guide There are two main components of your Electric Nail File these are the Control Box & Handpiece. Both items will vary in appearance but the fundamental function is the same from one brand to another. The Control Box controls the delivery of power to the Handpiece. Depending on your unit, it will control the speed (R.P.M.), forward/reverse direction, on/off etc. The handpiece has a chuck (the thing that holds the bit/tool that you use). There are various methods of chuck release but the better units will have a twist lock/release to change bits. Inside the main body of the handpiece is the motor. The Handpiece will often make up 50% or more of the total purchase price so a little care & maintenance will save you a lot of heartache (& money).
The Micro-Motor breathes through tiny air vents. Hold the handpiece as you would a biro (not a dinner knife) to avoid blocking these vents as you work. This will also help avoid filing dust being drawn into the motor which can cause over-heating. Keep the vents clear at all times. Allow the motor to completely stop before changing direction (forward to reverse) or before changing bits. The handpiece contains a complex series of bushes, springs & bearings. One of the major causes of damage to these components is from the handpiece being dropped. Try to take extra care to avoid this. The handpiece should only be opened by a qualified person. The optimum handpiece operating speed (for a Nail Technician) is between 14000 & 17000 RPM. The required speed will vary slightly depending on the size & type of bit used & the amount of pressure required to perform the required task. Operation at speeds higher than this may result in excess handpiece heat & risk of burning the nail.
